Artificial intelligence can create convincing text, images, audio and video. These tools offer creative opportunities, but they also make it easier to produce misleading content at scale. Media literacy therefore requires both technical awareness and careful judgement.

When evaluating a claim, look beyond how polished the content appears. Ask who created it, what evidence supports it, whether trusted sources report the same event and what the creator may want the audience to feel or do. Reverse-image search, date checks and source comparison remain useful even as synthetic media improves.

No single visual clue can prove that content was generated by AI. Context matters. Responsible verification combines tools with human judgement, reliable reporting and a willingness to pause before sharing.

Learners should also understand ethical creation. AI-generated material should not impersonate people, exploit private information or mislead audiences. Clear disclosure and respect for consent help communities benefit from new tools without weakening trust.
